Bute Motorsport is delighted to announce that Richard Fearns will return to competition in the PT4 category of the LMP3 Cup Championship in the Radical RXC with which he took victory at Snetterton.
Bute has also announced it will welcome new entrants to an invitational Group in the LMP3 Cup Championship for the final two weekends of the 2018 season at Donington Park GP (September 8/9) and Silverstone GP (October 13/14).
Earlier this year the PT4 category was announced for the Ligier JS P4 and Radical RXC cars, and now Group CN, Prototype, and further Radical cars are welcomed to the grid ahead of new Group structures for 2018.
Now that the field has been opened up for a greater variety of prototype cars, Richard Fearns is keen to return to action to round off the season in his Radical RXC. He will also have a bit of an advantage over other PT4 and Invitational runners having raced on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit in the past, including earlier this season, albeit not on Michelin rubber.
“I’m used to doing long-distance racing so having hour-long races were what I enjoy,” said Fearns. “At Snetterton it was my first time on Michelin tyres, so the car wasn’t performing to its best but it’s all a learning curve and I’d like to enter a full-season in 2019. I’m also familiar with Silverstone having raced on it a few times, including with Radical this year.”
Interested entrants can contact Christopher Thorn, Bute Motorsport Commercial Manager on [email protected] or 01963 407035. Entries in the LMP3 and PT4 categories will run on control fuel, Sunoco CMR (100RON, 89MON), supplied by AAOC, and Michelin tyres as stated in the 2018 regulations. Invitational entrants will be able to run whichever fuel and tyres they choose for these two rounds.
